Understanding survivorship: what comes after treatment
Life after treatment doesn’t always follow a straight line
The end of active treatment is an important milestone, but it does not necessarily mean the end of cancer care.
You may have regular follow-up appointments and monitoring. You may still be recovering from treatment or managing effects that continue after treatment ends. You may be ready to return to work and everyday routines—or you may not know what “normal” looks like anymore.
For some people, life gradually begins to feel familiar again. For others, cancer remains an ongoing part of their healthcare journey.
Understanding what can happen after treatment can help you feel more prepared for the road ahead.
