Since 2016, the National Foundation for Cancer Research has hosted Cancer Research Week as part of the Play4TheCure program. The goal of Cancer Research Week being to engage the Mid-Atlantic region basketball community to support a locally-based cancer research organization. With the help of Gonzaga College High School Head Basketball Coach Steve Turner and Friendship Collegiate Head Basketball Coach Bryan Bartley in the Washington D.C. metro area we were able to establish a number of relationships in a hotbed of talented basketball players and well-known coaches. Now heading into its third year, we can take a look at how Cancer Research Week has grown and evolved over the years.

In the name of friendly competition, we’re highlighting our top ten fundraisers so far this fall as a way to honor and acknowledge the teams who work so hard to support Play4TheCure. Please note that this list only represents teams that have sent in their donations as of October 31, 2017 and we will continue to update this list through the end of the year as more donations come in! We’re grateful for all the teams that donate to Research for a Cure, big and small.
